Lisa Sherman, M.Ed., R.D. brings her expertise as a registered dietitian to our school by offering classes that are specific to health conditions. She grew up in a very food conscious family, and knew at the age of eleven that she would be pursuing a career in helping people eat healthy. Lisa’s Mom, a wonderful cook, owned a restaurant. Her Dad, a retired physicist, has always been interested in making food tasty and become a food connoisseur at a very early age. Lisa considers her parents her favorite-dining partners.
Lisa translates the science of nutrition into a language that we can understand and enjoy. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bradley University with a degree in Foods, Nutrition, and Dietetics and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Nutrition Education from the University of Illinois in 1983. Our dietitian is devoted to helping people learn how to take pleasure in eating; something she says can help bring meaning to life.
Lisa is a member of the American Dietetic Association and is available for one-on-one consultations or group workshops to help people learn about wellness and disease prevention issues. Appointments are available through the Creative Cooking School to help you achieve your dietary goals
