BIOGRAPHY
|
|
Chef Michael Anderson graduated with honors in 2001 from Baltimore International College in Baltimore, Maryland with a joint degree in Professional Cooking and Baking. During his time at Baltimore International College Chef Anderson was selected to work on various special events including a dinner for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and a benefit dinner at the Baltimore Arena. Chef Anderson also received a citation from the Mayor of Baltimore for work done for the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
In 2001, while attending culinary school Chef Anderson began working for Brock and Co. a regional foodservice provider out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As Chef Manager for a Fortune 500 investment company and an international electronics firm Chef Anderson oversaw all aspects of Corporate and Executive Dining.
In September of 2002 Chef Anderson moved to upstate New York and took the position of Executive Chef at Utica College. While in the position Chef Anderson was responsible for the oversight of all food service on campus including the Student Dining Commons, three retail locations and all catered events. In addition to his duties at the college Chef Anderson also served as the personal chef for the President of the college at all functions in his home. During his time at the college Chef Anderson was able to cook for a variety of distinguished guests including the President of the Dominican Republic, Senator Hillary Clinton, the musical group the Goo Goo Dolls, singer Lisa Loeb and the President of the Nirvana Water Company, a former Iranian dignitary.
After three years in upstate New York Chef Anderson relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada and took the position of Executive Sous Chef at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In that position Chef Anderson was responsible for the entire Public Foods Department which included two restaurants and fourteen concession stands.
In September of 2006 Chef Anderson began work on becoming a certified Master Sommelier by completing the Introductory Course and Examination of the Court of Master Sommeliers. Chef Anderson is also an active member of the American Culinary Federation and in 2008 he was awarded the honor of the Certified Executive Chef designation by the ACF. He was a culinary instructor at the Art Institute, Executive Chef at Mountainview Hospital, and currently Executive Chef for International Gaming Technologies, Las Vegas, NV.
